Dead, dead, dead

Postby Marmie » Tue Feb 13, 2007 6:30 pm

The funeral for The College Forum will be held on Friday next at 10 PM at a place TBA. We will have an open casket service (so we can view the remains), so come with your passwords in hand. Following the service, we will have a brief testimony time of how The Forum may have influenced you during his short life (he will be sorely missed). Complete eulogy will be forthcoming....

Other additions

Some have requested we add these poll options:

# He was as a breath of fresh air to me each time we met.

# Not bad for a quiet sort of guy.

# I'll remember him most for his wit and style.

# Stuck on himself.

You're deleting the College forum postings?

Why not just merge them with the Highway One postings?

Deletion may be proposed, but there will be no deletion without an admin's say-so--and shifting of all threads to an alternative forum. 'Hem.

But as I said, I think Marmie is more suggesting the demise of the board in the context that it has fallen from its former glory (a six feet fall); this thread is more likely an attempt to put air back into its lungs, and look, it's working.

Cheerio, Mr. Forum

Postby eBeth » Wed Feb 14, 2007 3:02 pm

I do not think that I shall miss Mr. Forum...this is the 1st I have seen of him in months. I would probably have done more with him... but he was so easy to forget, sadly. Possibly because I see everyone on the Forum on a regular basis and it is much more fun to talk to people in person, that through Forie--he wasn't the same. How did he die, then? Boredom... very, very, very low self-esteem? It is sad. His lfe was brief, but it was exciting for a little while.

A pre-death interview...

Postby Marmie » Wed Feb 14, 2007 3:44 pm

and subsequent autopsy revealed...

minor sorrow over a few loose threads,

discouragement precipitated by neglect,

and an overall malaise at the present state of the situation.

This, of course, prompted the coroner to rule it death by --

a broken heart.

Yes, sad. Very sad.

Your kind words would have meant alot to him. Actually, any words would have meant alot to him....

Mr. C. F.

Postby Jerry Lewis III » Wed Feb 14, 2007 11:13 pm

Well, uh, I should say, uh, in my, uh, experience, Mr. C. F., as we know has passed into another realm. Now what realm it is remains the question. It might be a tangible realm. Or it might be an intangible, other-worldly realm. Or it might even be a realm involving quarks and quasars; i.e., a spacial realm. Yes, uh, this is truly the question. And it remains to be seen. But if it is seen, it is surely in the visible aspect of reality, and therefore something we can see. So for now, if you happen to glimpse a strange shape in the form of a CF in the endless void of this realm, you can really be sure it is probably most likely our dear ol' departed friend. That's all for now. You see.
